Fundraising Coordinator
The purposes of the Northern Arizona Chapter of the Autism Society of America are:
• To promote and advocate for the general welfare of persons with autism;
• To further the advancement of all ameliorative and preventive study, research, therapy, care and cure of persons with autism;
• To increase public awareness of autism in Northern Arizona
• To further the education and training of parents and professional personnel for training, educating, and caring for persons with autism;
• To promote the self determination of persons with autism and to foster the development of integrated care on their behalf;
• To promote the establishment of adequate diagnostic, therapeutic, educational and recreational facilities for persons with autism;
• To advise and aid families and to serve as a clearing house for gathering and disseminating information regarding persons with autism; and
• To solicit and receive funds for the accomplishment of the above purpose.
Primary Responsibilities
The Fundraising Coordinator, as an independent contractor, will seek contributions and sponsorships to support the Northern Arizona Chapter of the Autism Society of America's grant program, which supports families of children with an autism spectrum disorder and individuals who have an autism spectrum disorder.
Specific Duties
Coordinator will solicit sponsorships and raffle items for the golf event (or other similar event) and solicit sponsors for the annual autism conference. Duties include:
- development of prospective donor list in cooperation with the Chapter board and event committees,
- creation of proposals,
- solicitation of contributors, and
- sponsorship follow through
The proceeds from these events are used primarily for a grant program. A performance review will take place after each solicitation period.
Compensation
As an independent contractor, the Coordinator will be contracted for a three month period prior to the conference and prior to the golf event with a monthly stipend of $400 per month. A bonus program of a $1,000 one-time payment per event is available should secured sponsorships exceed $10,000 (exclusive of gifts in kind) prior to the event. An additional one-time bonus of $1,500 per event is available if sponsorships secured exceed $15,000 (exclusive of gifts in kind) prior to the event.
